ESSAY PROMPT

Medicare for All - Past Due ~ February 7, 2021

There has been a lot of talk in the political world recently about the United States health care system - especially regarding its costs. One idea frequently brought up is the expansion of Medicare to all Americans. What exactly is Medicare for All? Is it a good idea, or a bad one? Once you take into account typical medical expenditures, would Medicare for All be cheaper or more expensive for the average citizen? Keep these questions in mind as you answer the prompt.

The target length of the essay should be between 500 and 1,000 words. The winning essays will be chosen based on their coherence, persuasiveness, and the quality of the articles and data they quote and cite. Make sure to include your sources! There will be two essays chosen to win, one arguing for, and one arguing against Medicare for All. You may submit an essay for each side. Along with your essay, please submit your full name, address, age, grade, school, and a headshot to be included on the site should you win. Please make sure to include "Essay Submission - Medicare for All" in the subject line.

To submit an essay, or if you have any questions, please email michael@thejrexecutive.com.
