ESSAY PROMPT

The Wealth Tax ~ Due by February 28, 2021

The idea of instituting a wealth tax in America has been floated in the political scene many times. What exactly is the Wealth Tax? Is it a good idea, or a bad one? How much money would such a tax bring in, and what should the money being raised be used for? What are some of the challenges of instituting such a tax? Would such a tax be considered fair? Keep these questions in mind as you answer the prompt.

The target length of the essay should be between 500 and 1,000 words. The winning essays will be chosen based on their coherence, persuasiveness, and the quality of the articles and data they quote and cite. Make sure to include your sources! There will be two essays chosen to win, one arguing for, and one arguing against the Wealth Tax. You may submit an essay for each side. Along with your essay, please submit your full name, address, age, grade, school, and a headshot to be included on the site should you win. Please make sure to include "Essay Submission - Wealth Tax" in the subject line.

To submit an essay, or if you have any questions, please email michael@thejrexecutive.com.
